Will Pham has been invited by Deptford X, an arts festival based in Deptford with over 25 year history, to engage with the Vietnamese community in Deptford to create an artwork together.
Our project is centred on community cooking, intergenerational conversations over shared recipes, group lunch clubs cooking demonstrations and eat-ins, welcoming all to participate.
The series of events will lead to an exhibition in July 2025 showcasing the communities stories, cooking recipes and coinciding with the 50th year anniversary of the end of the Vietnam war in 1975.
There are many ways you can take part in this project:
-One to one cooking demonstrations
-Group cooking demonstration
-Lunch clubs
We are looking for participants, volunteers, and community chefs and will be prioritising those from the Vietnamese community, Deptford local community, and all ages and backgrounds are welcome.
